People with COPD asked to share their views

PEOPLE with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) in Cheshire and Merseyside are being asked to share their views about their care. A campaign is underway to recruit hundreds of people with COPD from across the Region to share their experiences via an online survey. Survey responses will be used by local NHS providers to improve services for people with COPD. The survey can be completed by phone for those without internet access and for people whose first language is not English. A ₤5 Costa voucher is available for each participant as a thank you for taking part. The survey can be accessed by visiting the survey online. Anyone without internet access or who needs translation can call:- 01512543332.

Michelle Coleiro, Head of Programmes at the Innovation Agency, said:- "We hope to hear from a diverse group of people with COPD from across the Region, to help us understand where and how to focus NHS support for people with COPD. According to the Quality Outcomes Framework for 2021/2022, there are more than 69,000 people in Cheshire and Merseyside with a diagnosis of COPD. We know that there is significant variation in the number of people with COPD from 1 area to another, so we hope to hear from people from across the Region."

The Innovation Agency is the Academic Health Science Network for the North West Coast, working in partnership with Cheshire and Merseyside Health and Care Partnership to improve the care of people with COPD.s
