ClayWorks Students' Exhibition at ArtHouse Southport

THERE is always an air of anticipation about the annual exhibition at the ArtHouse by the student potters from Southport Contemporary Arts' ClayWorks Studio. Southport's answer to Channel 4's:- "Great Pottery Thrown Down," ClayWorks is part of Southport Contemporary Arts well established portfolio of drop in classes. When ClayWorks 1st opened its kiln doors in May 2016 it was in response to the need for local artists across the whole community who wanted to work in ceramics. Inline with SCA's policy of inclusivity, although ClayWorks has a steady contingent of returning students, there are always new faces, young and old, tempted to test out their throwing skills at the potter's wheel. Running classes for beginners and more advanced artists, the current exhibition will showcase both emerging and more experienced ceramicists and visitors will have the opportunity to view and purchase the students' work. The artwork will be on display at the ArtHouse, 65 Eastbank Street, Southport from 12 April to 23 April 2022. The Gallery is open Tuesday to Friday, from 10.00 to 15.00.
