Southport Classic and Speed 2022

THE Southport Classic and Speed Rally was held at Victoria Park, over 10 September and 11 September 2022. This event is the 2nd time that Aintree Circuit Club has held it on Victoria Park Southport. The event is a calibration of Southport has a rich Motoring and Motor Sport Heritage, which pre dates Brooklands, with the 1st Speed Trials that were held in 1903, on both Southport and Ainsdale Beaches.

Attending on the Saturday was the Mayor of Sefton, Cllr Clare Louise Carragher and making her 1st official appearance was Miss Liverpool City Region 2022, Georgia Austin.

On Sunday, the Paigh Cannon James, to the death of the HRH Queen Elizabeth, on both days the event organisers held a 2 minute silence to allow those taking part a moment of reflection during the period of mourning. Sadly, like many events activities were scaled down as a mark of respect.
