Calling all local charities and small businesses - Formby Christmas Festival Opportunities Awaits

ON Saturday, 3 December 2022 the Formby Pool and the Formby Christmas Festival Committee are to play host to a festive event. The event will be held from 11am to 4pm within the grounds of Formby Pool Trust, and will feature live music, food and drink, Christmas Market, Family Fun Fair, Train Rides, and lots more, including the Formby Rotary Club Father Christmas. The committee has a few opportunities for local charities, sports clubs, and community groups. If you would like a free stand to collect at, please let us know... BUT you must ideally offer something festive, that ideally is interactive and connected to your group's activities. For example:- "Beat the Elf" if you are a football club (Beat the goalie but with an Elf in goal) Remember, we have limited space, so the most creative will be picked. This is an outdoor event and priority will be given to those who can supply their own gazebos or shelters. If you or your group wish to attend, can deliver a stand, or would like to take part in any way, please contact us now, by emailing your application to:- Andrew.Bannon@Sefton.Gov.UK. You have until 11am, on 1 November to apply. Those selected will be announced, on 7 November 2022.

The event is being backed by Southport & Mersey Reporter, Formby Pool Trust, and will also be featured within the Formby Traders Journal in the November issue, as well as other media outlets. So we expect a large turnout for this event. The event is also headlined on the stage by Merseycats, The Rock and Roll Children's Charity.

Birkdale Kitchen Co. in Southport has gone GLOBAL with its latest recognition

AN award winning kitchen design company from Southport has now gone GLOBAL in its latest recognition. Birkdale Kitchen Co. was nominated in the Global Kitchen Design Awards for best kitchen design. The awards ceremony was held near Stuttgart in Germany with finalists flying into the star studded ceremony from all over the world.

Owners Neil Gokcen and Stephen Dunne were delighted to be shortlisted as a finalist amongst some incredible worldwide designers. He said:- "We felt super proud to be finalists at the 2022 Global Kitchen Design Awards! To be recognised as a leading design studio is an honour, and it was great to meet like minded professionals from across the world. It's a big accolade for us. It was a stunning ceremony. There were over 600 people in attendance from every corner of the world. It was a very stylish awards ceremony, with a 60s and 70s theme, and some great live acts. We enjoyed it! We're really making a name for ourselves now. More and more of our clients are hearing about our work from other people, or are seeing our designs through social media, or hearing about our awards and are keen to learn more about what we do. Things are going really well. We are very busy at the moment, working on some very exciting projects, and designing kitchens for some very interesting buildings now too. We're getting involved in some spectacular designs on a more regular basis now too. 1 of the projects we're working on has the kitchen flowing straight towards the outdoor pool! People will be able to see more about that 1 on our social media feeds over the coming weeks!"

Earlier this year Birkdale Kitchen Co. won the title of:- 'Kitchen Showroom of the Year,' overcoming rivals from around the country at the 2022 kbbreview Retail and Design Awards 2022 in Birmingham. It's been a remarkable few months for the firm which opened its doors in Birkdale Village, in Southport, on 12 April 2021.
