The Top Chef Bringing 5 Star Sunday Roasts to Penny Lane

DARRYN Jones shot to fame for his 'unbelievable' culinary creations at 21st Amendment in Hoylake, featuring in local and international press, and has now taken over the kitchen at 21st Amendment on Penny Lane, (L159EA).

The South African chef created a storm at the Wirral venue, leading to countless 5 star reviews and bookings well in advance. Darryn's creative small plates and sensational Sunday roasts developed such a reputation at the Wirral venue that he has now been tasked to head the kitchen at the sister venue in Liverpool.

Darryn's new kitchen offering at 21st Amendment on Penny Lane will consist of a refined small plates menu Weds to Sun, with a great value deal of 3 small plates. Mains include burgers and fish and chips, all with a Darryn Jones twist, and then on Sundays the people of South Liverpool are in for a real treat with the roasts.

Sunday roasts at 21st Amendment on Penny Lane offer fried chicken, hummus or soup of the day to start. For your main, you can choose lamb, chicken, belly pork, sea bass or nut roast. To finish, there's either lemon tart, a brownie or a selection of cheeses. As Hoylake diners will tell you, Darryn has Sunday roasts down to a fine art.

Darryn said:- "I'm thoroughly proud to have been given the chance to take over the kitchen at Penny Lane. I've been working very hard over the years, working my way up from dishwasher, and it's an honour to be recognised and given this opportunity. As for the media coverage I got, that was pretty wild haha!"

Darryn's creations in Hoylake caused that much of a stir, he was featured by The Wirral Globe, The Liverpool Echo, The Chester Standard, Liverpool Community Radio and even international press. After a tough life in South Africa, Darryn settled in the UK and has since excelled as a chef.

Darryn said:- "It's always been my dream to head a kitchen and I'm excited about getting 21st Amendment on Penny Lane back on the map as a quality dining venue. It's got a great reputation as a cool speakeasy bar with live music and live sport and I'm looking forward to taking it to the next level by offering excellent food."

The venue also has a secret upstairs room that Darryn is planning to turn into a private dining space - ideal for dining events and tailored evenings. From humble beginnings to running kitchens, things are looking very bright for the chef who uses the slogan:- 're-inventing the meal.'

Darryn summarised:- "There are so many great places to dine in South Liverpool; from Lark Lane to Smithdown Road to Allerton Road. There are lots of options for people here but competition is good and it will push me even harder to achieve the same reputation as I had in Hoylake."

The scheme at Huyton Station includes a new and improved waiting area, a new Ticket Office desk and window. New automatic doors have also been installed as well as new seating on the platforms.
