Leading lighting firm IllumiDex UK Ltd has expanded into bigger new premises, in Burscough, Lancashire

THE family run firm is enjoying a glowing reputation after being founded by husband and wife Steve and Jan Clayton.

They famously created the spectacular:- 'boulevard of light' along the mile long Lord Street, in Southport Town Centre, installing 300,000 lights in a scheme contracted by Southport Business Improvement District (Southport BID).

The eye catching project, part of Southport's extensive regeneration plans, involved the removal of 30,000 metres of failed tree lights and the installation of 30,000 metres of newly designed high specification lights within 80 trees across both sides of the road in 2020.

The firm also lights up Town and Village Centres in the North West; creates lighting inside homes, businesses and gardens; and installs Christmas trees and Christmas decorations in Town and Village Centres and on retail and leisure parks.

They have been busy putting everything into place in their new purpose built 4,500 sq ft commercial premises, located within Burscough Industrial Estate, after moving from 2 smaller units in Ormskirk.

IllumiDex UK Ltd Director Jan Clayton said:- "We are really pleased with our bigger new premises in Burscough. It is much more self contained, big enough for everything we need and room to expand further. We can now fit 2 or 3 articulated lorries inside our compound as and when we need them, as well as our vans and our 2 cherry pickers. We have a great meeting room for any clients who come to visit us to see what we can do. The security is fantastic with locked gates, CCTV on the premises and 24 hour CCTV coverage from Lancashire Police. We have got everything unpacked and stored away where it needs to be, and are enjoying making the place look great."

IllumiDex UK Ltd Director Steve Clayton said:- "We have grown and grown since we founded the business. The firm has been expanding because of the excellent relationships we enjoy with clients such as Sefton Council and Southport Business Improvement District. Our reputation is growing through word of mouth and as people see the results and the value of the work we have carried out. We needed bigger new premises, and a large, lockable compound. Our new base is much more suitable for what we want and is configured much better for our needs.I love the new office space here. We can get more in, and have much more space to work in. We saw this unit become available through Fitton Estates, in Southport. On the day it was advertised I went straight out to have a look. Jan and I knew straight away it was perfect for what we needed. Sometimes you walk in somewhere, and you just know. Graham Bowling and the team, at Fitton Estates, were brilliant, they were fantastic to deal with. They provided us with everything we needed, and couldn't have been more helpful. They have been very hands on throughout the process, helping us to complete as quickly and efficiently as possible. Our new landlord has been really supportive too. We said yes to this opportunity straight away. We feel very much at home here already."
