Merseyside Police appealing for information following an incident at the Southport Food and Drink Festival

MERSEYSIDE Police are appealing for information after a child was seriously injured on 4 June 2023, in Southport, at around 2pm. The appeal follows an incident that resulted in a 9 year old boy sustaining significant injuries to his arm and legs, at an outdoor festival, at:- Victoria Park, on Rotten Row, Southport. That the time, the boy was inside an inflatable Zorb, on a inflatable waterfilled pool. It has been reported that the Zorb was raised into the air before it landed on the grass. A 2nd Zorb containing another child was also raised at the same time, but thankfully this child was unharmed. The injured 9 year old was taken to Hospital by North West Air Ambulance for treatment. Merseyside Police are appealing for anyone who may have captured images or videos of the incident to please get in touch to help them to establish the circumstances of what happened. Southport Food and Drink Festival 2023

IGNORING the clickbait headlines on some media outlets, this year's Southport Food and Drink Festival has been fantastic, despite a freak incident on the last day of the event. This years event was bigger and better than in previous years, allowing those who visited a fantastic time.
