Wirral's coolest gym celebrates award with amazing new features

WIRRAL'S coolest gym, Bare Rooms, has just won the Tourism and Leisure Start Up Of The Year Award and is celebrating with some amazing new features. The Birkenhead gym became the 1st gym of its kind in the UK when it opened in 2022 and has now added more attractions such as a floatation tank, a massage chair room and more.

The ground breaking, first of its kind gym created a storm when it opened in 2022, specialising in private training rooms that are ideal for those with mental health issues, self-conscious or looking for an alternative to open plan gyms. The gym has now got even better following on from winning the prestigious award recently.

Bare Rooms has individual or small group workout rooms, each with their own HD projectors with training programmes, as well as virtual reality and VR golf rooms. Due to the new expansion, part funded by the LCR High Growth Fund, Bare Rooms now also offers converted shipping container training rooms, an outdoor gym, a boxing room, a floatation tank room, a massage room, VR racing and more.

The gym has become a huge hit, with no other gyms like it in the country. Ideal for those who want their own private space when working out, it bridges the gap by offering people an alternative to big gyms. With new attractions such as the floatation tank, massage chair, boxing room and new virtual reality features, Bare Rooms is truly unique.

Owner Wayne Hughes said:- "I founded Bare Rooms in March 2022 after hurting my knee and feeling self conscious when working out in a big gym with a big leg strap. It made me think how difficult it must be for people who are self conscious or have mental health issues so I decided to create somewhere that gives people their own space but also has some really cool features. Just over a year down the line and we've been delighted with the feedback; people love it! Winning the award was an amazing feeling and the new additions are taking things to the next level; we wanted to be different and to bridge the gap and we're certainly doing that!"

The new floatation tank offers members the chance to float in salt water whilst listening to relaxing music; something that many top athletes use to heal their bodies. Meanwhile, the new massage chair is state-of-the art and offers members a range of different massages; from light to deep tissue.

Co-Owner, Maxine Hughes, said:- "As well as bridging the gap and offering an alternative to working out at home or in a big gym, we're keeping things very affordable. There are flexible packages from just £16.99 per month, with no contract, and an easy to use booking system; where members can book individual rooms, micro gym rooms or any of the attractions."

Bare Rooms offers a free trial to anyone wanting to see what it's all about and membership is flexible. The Platinum Package is just £35 per month and includes 5 private 1 hour session per week, a free personal training session, all recreation rooms included and unlimited access to group classes such as spin and yoga.

One member, Nicola, said:- "I really just wanted to say how happy I am to have come across Bare Rooms. For many years I have had anxiety doing things on my own but Bare Rooms has made me feel so comfortable. It wasn't spoiled by me worrying the whole time about if someone was looking at me tripping over my 2 left feet, or looking less coordinated than everyone else. I left each room at peace with myself, and not beating myself up because my abilities were not as good as some other people. It was just all about me, and that just felt so good. When I first heard I would have a place with private gym rooms, virtual reality and more all in 1 place, personally I just thought the price was too good to miss. A no brainer for sure!"

Bare Rooms has recently won the Tourism and Leisure Start Up Of The Year Award and it has also installed amazing new features. Added to its offering is a floatation tank, massage chair room, virtual reality racing, a boxing room, new shipping container private workout rooms and an outdoor gym.
