New women's fashion boutique in Southport reveals plans for Official Opening Event

6 diverse models have been chosen from Debbie's Unapologetic Community Group and they can't wait to model on the day

A brand new women's fashion boutique at Wayfarers Shopping Arcade in Southport is getting ready for its Official Opening Event - and you're all invited.

Debbie Lyn Apparel has been:- "really busy" since opening in the popular shopping arcade, on Lord Street, in July.

Owner Debbie Lyn Connolly Lloyd, a fashion model and inclusivity campaigner, is now excitedly looking forward to hosting a special celebration event from:- 11am to 5pm, on:- Saturday, 12 August 2023.

It will feature 6 models who have been chosen from Debbie's Unapologetic Community Group.

Debbie, who won the Sefton Diversity and Inclusion Award, at the 2023 Pride Of Sefton Awards in April, will have a range of inclusive fashion available in a variety of styles and sizes.

The Official Opening Event is designed to coincide with Wayfarers Arcade's monthly Craft and Gift Fair, which is also taking place that weekend, over both:- Saturday and Sunday.

It will be a bustling time at the arcade with other shops, cafes and beauty outlets inside also looking forward to welcoming visitors.

Debbie Lyn Connolly-Lloyd said:- "My new shop has been really busy since we opened! I have made lots of sales, and more importantly, I have loved giving women some fashion advice to choose their ideal designs to flatter their shape! I have had lots of lovely comments on the GoGairy jackets and Daisy Amour bags, everyone has fallen in love with them! I am excitedly putting the final preparations in place for our big opening event. 6 diverse models have been chosen from my Unapologetic Community Group and they can't wait to have their pick of the shop to model on the day! New stock is arriving soon for Autumn, and this will include a selection with non-binary people in mind, so that I can keep working towards more inclusion. My Lissa MJY designer leisure wear is on the way and the stock is from a size XS through to 4XL, so there really is something for everyone."

Debbie Lyn Apparel at Wayfarers Arcade, in Southport, offers:- "unapologetic fashion in sizes:- 8 to 28" with lots of unique, colourful items on display, many in collaboration with other local fashion designers and business owners.

Exclusive items on sale include:- unique hand painted leather jackets by GoGairy, sportswear by Designer Lissa MJY, funky bags by Daisy Amour, Jonah and Lily Sterling Silver Jewellery and more.

Debbie was a fashion model for 4 years and says she came across lots of prejudice within the fashion industry with a lack of inclusion, especially towards plus sized models.

She decided to take matters into her own hands and began Debbie-Lyn Apparel, an inclusive fashion brand.

She began as an online seller, specialising in unapologetic fashion in sizes:- 8 to 28.

The concept took off so well that she has now opened her very own shop inside the iconic Wayfarers Arcade in the heart of Southport.

The Debbie Lyn Apparel Official Event is at the:- Wayfarers Shopping Arcade, on Lord Street, Southport, PR81NT, 11am to 5pm, on:- Saturday, 12 August 2023, free admission.

The monthly Craft and Gift Fair is at:- Wayfarers Shopping Arcade on Lord Street, Southport, PR81NT, on:- 10am to 4pm, on:- Saturday, 12 August and Sunday, 13 August 2023, free admission.
