Meet the woman behind Liverpool's huge breathwork community

A woman from Waterloo is leading an ever growing breathwork community in Liverpool that now has over 500 members. Samantha Flynn, 34, uses the power of breathwork to improve people's wellbeing and offers 1 to 1s, workshops, corporate sessions and huge pop up events that have up to 80 people in attendance.

Sammy is on a mission to help people through breathwork in the same way it changed her life. Now a Certified Advanced Oxygen Advantage Breathing Instructor and Certified Trauma Informed Breathwork Practitioner, she has helped many people from various walks of life; with countless people speaking of profound effects.

During her sessions, Sammy teaches people how to take control of their functional breathing; helping them to use day to day breathing to improve the quality of their focus, concentration, posture, sleep and performance. She then guides people through Conscious Connected Breathing; a very powerful meditative practice that works on a deep, cellular and subconscious level.

Since creating iBreathe Community in 2020, Sammy has helped hundreds of people; with many people saying her practises have helped them overcome personal adversities including anxiety, stress, PTSD whilst improving their overall mental wellbeing. It was Sammy's own personal struggles that guided her to breathwork initially and she is now on a mission to help others in the same way.

Sammy said:- "I was at a point in my life where I was at a cross roads. I tried talk therapy which helped a little but I didn't feel it was for me. I discovered breathwork thanks to my friend who booked me on a class and I initially didn't want to go. I'm so grateful to her now and for going as that was the start of my journey 4 years ago. When Lockdown happened, it gave me the opportunity to deepen my practice and it was during this time I really saw the benefits within me which helped me both mentally and emotionally. I was fascinated by the practice that much, I continued to research and learn and got my certifications in teaching."

Sammy fully integrated breathwork into her daily life and felt so much more clarity, focus, energy and happiness in her life. She became a fully qualified breathwork practitioner and began holding 1 to 1 sessions with others, as well as intimate workshops at venues such as:- Inner Guru and Jaydee Spa. Word of mouth soon spread and in 2022 she began hosting huge Big City Breathe events in Liverpool.

Sammy said:- "It certainly must be working because it's grown to a level I never anticipated! Breathwork has changed my life and I just wanted to help others in the same way, but I never thought my 1 to 1 and workshop sessions would evolve into big events with up to 80 people in attendance! It's so great when people try it for the 1st time and are sceptical; people are amazed by the effects of the techniques!"

Sammy's Big City Breathe events have been hosted in stunning Liverpool venues such as Oh Mi Oh My, where she takes people on a big, guided meditative breathwork journey. The large-scale events continue to grow in popularity and Sammy is now also working with businesses to use breathwork as a way to improve employee happiness and performance.

1 attendee said:- "The big City breathe event held at the beautiful Oh Me Oh My venue was made even more beautiful by the wonderful community. The energy in the room created by Sammy and the like-minded community made for a truly amazing evening. It's hard to put into words how special the event was, it's something you have to experience to understand. Thank you Sammy!"

Another added:- "WOW! What an experience. As a very hyperactive person who doesn't stop thinking, it was the 1st time I had slowed down to such a level through meditative breathwork. It was crazy; I could feel the oxygen working on my cells deep within me, as if I was being jet washed from the inside out. Meanwhile, I had visions of clarity and what I needed to do to improve my life. I can't wait to go again!"

Sammy now has a permanent base at Inner Guru's The Hub in Walton, where she practises her 1 to 1 sessions that incorporate life coaching and guidance as a:- coach, mentor, guide, and friend, as well as her intimate workshops. She welcomes businesses for corporate bookings and is planning some more huge pop up events this year.

Sammy summarised:- "For me it's all about sharing the knowledge and techniques to give as many people as possible the tools to lead a happier life. In today's society we become programmed and conditioned to breathe, think and live in ways that are often really unhealthy but you'd be amazed at the power of breath and what it can do to re-calibrate us. It's powerful stuff and it's great to see our community grow."

Samantha Flynn is the Founder of iBreathe Community, offering 1 to 1 sessions that incorporate:- life coaching, intimate workshops, corporate sessions and huge pop up events in the City. Sammy works on a free consultation basis to explore what an individual is looking for or combat in their life and people can sign up to the mailing list for free.
