NORTHERN customers can now get live train information via WhatsApp. The train operator's new automated chat function will simplify the process of getting live train information on the go, making commuting convenient and stress free, particularly in the event of disruption.

Hanging tough for Stick 'n' Step at Tough Mudder North West

20 gym enthusiasts have banded together to raise money for cerebral palsy charity Stick 'n' Step by taking part in North West Tough Mudder, on:- 10 September 2023, at:- Cholmondeley Castle, Malpas.

The athletes, who all attend The Zone, in Neston, Cheshire, are training hard to be able to complete the 10km course and raise as much money as possible for Stick 'n' Step. They are doing the event to challenge themselves but Stick 'n ' Step is their reason to complete it.

Team member Gerry Lawlor, who lives in Wirral and has worked at Rathbones for 30 years, says:- "Joining the gym some years ago really transformed my life and I totally embraced getting fit. Some of my gym friends took part in a Tough Mudder last year and I was quite envious of them so when I saw this event come up, I jumped at the chance to do it. Taking part in a challenge like this is a good way to build closer friendships and rapport with teammates, as well as raise money for a good cause. Many of us know families who have really benefitted from support provided by Stick 'n' Step over the years so we want to do all we can to help raise much-needed funds."

Stick 'n' Step provides free weekly conductive education sessions to children and young people with cerebral palsy up to the age of 25, allowing them to gain the skills they need to live more independent lives. The charity relies on supporters and volunteers to help raise the £750,000 required to deliver its services to over 100 families each year at its Wallasey and Runcorn centres.
