Formby based StemCellScousers Festive Fund Raising

THE Formby based StemCellScousers formed in 2015, by Kevin Dunne and his family, after the:- “Anthony Nolan Stem Cell Donor Register” found the only:- “Matching Donor” in the in the World, (who lives in the USA) enabling Kevin’s wife to have a Life Saving StemCell Transplant to cure her Leukeamia, in 2014.

Kevin would like to say a Massive Thank You and huge round of Applause to Vicky Hall and all the Saint Peter’s Church Formby Singers, Musicians and Volunteers for their truly Amazing donation of:- £300. On the 16th. November To the Stemcellscousers #DefeatBloodCancer crusade. This will enable 8 new potential Donors to be added to the register.

Over the last 8 years the StemCellScousers have now raised:- £69,700. For Blood Cancer Charities and the Royal Liverpool Hospital. They have donated £47,960. To the Anthony Nolan enabling them to recruit:- 1,199 new potential donors. They have organised Donor Drives with the DKMS StemCell donor register signing up 502 new donors to their register including:- Local Labour MP Bill Esterson.

Kevin told us that he would like to say a:- "massive thank you to all the Volunteers, all the Formby residents, the Formby business’s (to many to list here), the local bands:- Formby UKE 3A, Folk Routes, The Country Folk, The Southport Wanderers, and Fazackerly UKE Band. For their help and support of StemCellScousers." He added:- "We could not have done this without your support!!"


Kevin Dunne has also informed us that:- "We are holding a Christmas raffle in the SparrowHawk, on:- Thursday, 14 December 2023, at:- 6pm to 8pm. The Mayor Cllr June Burns will be drawing the tickets with the star prize being a Signed Curtis Jones Shirt, that has been donated by Liverpool Football Club. Tickets Cost just £5 per strip. Show Home Opens to House Hunters in Sefton
