Elan kits out School football team in Southport

A School football team in Southport is sporting a new kit thanks to sponsorship from Elan Homes. The homebuilder has helped kit out the girls' team at Churchtown Primary School with a donation towards their fundraising. The School is around a mile from Elan's new homes at Balmoral Gardens.

Elan Regional Sales Director, Marie Morris, said:- "Sport is a great way to stay fit and healthy, while also helping develop life skills including communication and teamwork. Women and girls' football has really taken off in recent years, in part due to the success of the Lionesses. Their achievements, including being runners up in the World Cup in the summer and winning last year's Women's Euros, are likely to inspire more girls to take up the sport. As near neighbours, we're proud to be able to help support Churchtown Primary School. Who knows, some of their current players may go on to represent their country in the future."

The sponsorship was secured with the help of Allison Cole, an Elan homeowner at Balmoral Gardens who is on the Parent Teacher Association at Churchtown Primary School.

Allison explained:- "Many of the children who live at Balmoral Gardens attend Churchtown Primary School and so when we were looking for sponsors for the football kits, Elan was the natural choice. We're grateful to Elan for the donation towards the cost of the girls' kit. They will wear it with pride and hopefully it will bring them lots of luck when they play other Schools."

Headteacher Jinnie Payne said:- "The girls football team have a brand new kit, thanks to Elan homes. Working in partnership with our local community, supporting each other, has brought about this opportunity. We are grateful to Elan homes for their help and the girl's team are now fully equipped to represent Churchtown Primary School at the matches this year."
