Marshside Brass Band brings Christmas Cheer to Peets Place Churchtown

THE popular fishmonger, Peets Place, on Cambridge Road, Churchtown. The store sells a massive range of fish, including catches from Southport's fishermen and shimmers, allowing the band to use the outside area to collect.  The money raised will go to fund the band in 2024, helping them to fulfill some of the 30 to 35 community bookings they are due to cover next year. Children bring musical joy to local care home

HEAVENLY voices rang out at Sutton Grange Care Home as the community came together to celebrate Christmas with a carol concert led by children from Banks St. Stephens C of E Primary School

The children brought festive cheer to the home wearing their Christmas jumpers and singing a selection of festive Christmas favourites. Residents, relatives and staff sang and clapped along and some even took to the dance floor.

The fun didn't stop there, as the children also brought along handmade Christmas cards for the Residents, which they handed out whilst sharing some yummy refreshments.

General Manager, Karen Fitzgerald said:- "We are so lucky to be part of such a fantastic community here in Banks. Singing Christmas carols is such a lovely tradition, I'm so glad we could invite our friends and neighbours to come and join in us."

Ken, Resident at Sutton Grange Care Home said:- "I love to sing Christmas carols so it was wonderful to hear all my old favourites sung so beautifully by the children, there really is nothing better than a good old singalong!"
