Purple Rain Lounge host:- 'Battle Of The Bands' 2024

IT was great to see another brilliant live music event at Purple Rain Lounge, in Southport, Merseyside. The venue located on Queen Anne Street, held the first of 3 'Battle Of The Band Heats' on 14 January 2024, hosted by Captain Kenny Legs, and The Bendy Boys, with the final due to take place on:- 9 February 2024. The next heats are on:- 23 January 2024 and 28 January 2024.

This battle will only be won by votes cast by the crowd on the night, so the audience's favourite 4 bands will return for the Finals!

If you support one of the next bands to play, please go to the next heat and cast your vote! Plus it is free entrance to watch your bands play in a safe and relaxed atmosphere...

Taking to the stage on the first night was a very interesting mix of bands, playing rock to pop, and even folk music! The night was fantastic, with a great atmosphere, and interesting food, our Editor can't wait for next Sunday.

Our Editor, Patrick added:- "Even the venue's Teddy was part of the fun, as you can see on our Twitter Posts from the night!"

This type of friendly, fun event, with lots of good humour, is what Southport has been lacking for so long now, and it's brilliant to see it return to Southport's Nightlife.

Sadly, our Editor Patrick missed the last band, but Charlotte Fitzgerald kindly took a fantastic picture for us of the last band to play on the night.

The first 4 bands to take to the stage were:-

  • "The Ravenous" Seasoned veterans of the North West scene.

  • "Not Dead yet." A talented group of experienced musicians with their own twist on prog and classic rock covers.

  • "Soma" A group of young newcomers hell-bent on showing the old heads how it's done.

  • And finally "Sour Note" Titans of the newly budding Southport ska scene, sure to get you skanking out with them.

Still to play in Heats 2 and 3 are:-

  • Slim Filter and the Gigarettes.

  • Dinosaur Feet.

  • Million£arth.

  • Temperium.

  • The Four King Legends.

  • Climax.

  • The Violets.

  • Her Future Void.

At stake is £500 prize, plus 2 days studio time at top level recording studio.

If this isn't for you, Roberta Lee will be on stage, once again, on:- Saturday, 27 January 2024, so if you having a birthday or anniversary, or you are planning a hen night, or a girlie night, or such an event, in Southport, take note and book a table now...
