Southport firm is sharing the love this February with specially designed tote bags

KC Workwear Ltd is at Unit 2, 231 Liverpool Road, Birkdale, Southport, Merseyside PR8 4PH, open Monday to Friday, and 24/7 online. Call them on: 01704 562200 or email: info@kc-workwear.com or visit:- www.kc-workwear.com

A local independent Southport business is sharing the love this February by giving away dozens of specially created tote bags.

The bags have been designed by the team at KC Workwear in Birkdale, and feature a cute cartoon reel and in ink bottle, along with the words:- 'KC Workwear, support your local print studio.'

The family run firm is giving the bags away with every order made this month.

Customers are welcome to send pictures of themselves with their bags to KC Workwear, or to post them online and tag KC Workwear in their posts on social media.

The new tote bags are being given to people by Managing Director Clive Lord; Production Manager Zoe Thorpe; Print Technician Lauren Larkin; and Graphic Designer Amy Brooks, who designed the bags.

Zoe Thorpe said:- "This February we are delighted to be giving away a free KC Workwear tote bag with every order we receive. They have been designed by Amy. She created a similar design for a work outfit and we had people messaging us to say that they loved her design. We are so glad to have Amy as our Graphic Designer as her skills have been greatly appreciated by many of our customers. She has created some amazing designs for the promotion of their company brands. We thought we would create a special KC Workwear tote bag, and give them away to say thank you to our customers as a special February offer. We have had lots of lovely comments from people so far. People really love the bags. You see people walking around town carrying bags from the big supermarkets. But if people are walking around town carrying bags with our name on them, then it goes a small way to getting the name out there for a family-run Southport business."

KC Workwear is a long established local enterprise in Southport, having operated for nearly 2 decades from its premises on Liverpool Road in Birkdale.

Managing Director Clive Lord said:- "We have been in business for 18 years, and have been based in Birkdale for the past 16 years. We mainly create workwear and embroidery but also create a wide range of products that our customers ask us for. We have recently invested significantly in new machinery that can produce more items even faster than we could before. We have built our reputation mainly through word of mouth and recommendations. We are trying to grow awareness now to let more people know about what we offer."

Grow your own soft fruits with Dobbies' Southport store

RESEARCH from YouGov shows that soft fruits make up 4 of the top 5 most popular fruits in the UK.1 Dobbies, the UK's leading garden centre, is encouraging gardeners of all ages and skill levels in Southport to get 1 of their 5 a day by learning how to grow soft fruits at one of its free workshops in March.

Grow How will take place on:- Saturday, 2 March 2024, at 10.30am, providing both aspiring and seasoned gardeners with an interactive setting to gain valuable insights from Dobbies' gardening experts at its Southport store. The Little Seedlings Club, tailored for children between the ages of 4 and 10, will be held on the morning of:- Sunday, 3 March 2024.

Dobbies' Grow How session will be a live:- 10 to 15 minute demonstration, showing Southport residents how to make the most of their outdoor and patio space by growing soft fruits. The session will cover what a soft fruit is and the different types, including:- strawberries, blueberries and blackberries. Dobbies' experts will guide gardeners through the process of growing soft fruits, from prepping the garden with the right soil before planting, to caring for the young plants and harvesting the fruits when ripe.

Dobbies' Little Seedlings Club session will also focus on soft fruits, with children in Southport learning about fruit in general and getting the opportunity to participate in a strawberry growing activity, putting their newly acquired knowledge into practice.

Zoe Stanmore, Dobbies' Horticultural Expert, explains that soft fruits are easy for gardeners of all abilities to grow. She said:- "Soft fruits come in so many delicious varieties, and they can be grown in compact pots, so you don't need a big space to start growing your own. It's not essential to have a large outdoor space; a pot in a well-lit space is ideal. Fertilise your soil correctly, and if you water and prune as and when needed, you can expect a good harvest. The Grow How session will also allow for customers to visit our Southport store and share any challenges they've had with growing their own, to get advice and feedback from our team."
