Making sense of Dementia

MANY people affected by dementia and family carers find it hard to know how to get details about the condition or where to go for support or services. As a result, those with the condition can experience huge difficulties, anxiety, isolation and worsening symptoms.

Liverpool Dementia Information Day aims to offer help and advice for anyone with an interest in dementia as well as professionals or people who just want to understand the illness a bit better.

The free drop in event takes place at the:- City's Central Library, in William Brown Street, Liverpool, from:- 10am to-5pm, on:- Thursday, 14 March 2024. A wide variety of over 40 organisations are taking part, providing information stalls as well as a full programme of talks and presentations.

And throughout the day there will be performances of dance, singing, music-making and also exercise sessions. Special features include Dementia Friends awareness talks, legal matters surgeries, shared reading groups and a Dementia Inequalities Board Game demonstration.

Jack Coutts; chair of organisers Liverpool Dementia Action Alliance; says:- "People living with dementia and family carers have told us they need this opportunity to learn more about what is available for them. The event will be a fantastic showcase of everything on offer to help all those affected by dementia to live as well as possible."

Liverpool Dementia Information Day is supported by:- Alzheimer's Society, Liverpool BID Company, St John's Shopping Centre and Liverpool City Council.

Sisterhood Soirée International Women's Day Pop Up Market & Walk With Unity Catwalk Show

JOIN us for a celebration of sisterhood at the Sisterhood Soirée Pop up Market, taking place on:- Saturday, 9 March 2024, from:- 10am to 3pm, at the historic St George's Hall, Liverpool. Please use the North Hall Entrance, on William Brown Street, oppersite the Central Library, Liverpool.

This event is being run in honour of International Women's Day and the L8 Business Collective, who said:- "We invite you to come together to commemorate, connect, and champion women in business!"

The event will let you meet some of the amazing women behind the L8 Business Collective, Sisterhood Soirée, shop with local independent women in business, from skincare, handcrafted cards and jewellery to unique one of a kind clothing.

Taking place within:- 'Sisterhood Soirée' will be an inclusive charity catwalk fashion show, called:- 'Walk With Unity' raising awareness for:- 'Beauty with a Purpose' charity; whilst inspiring inclusion, offering a platform for local designers and brands to showcase their talent collaborating with local makeup arts and models.

L8 Business Collective aim to support, motivate and inspire 1 another running businesses, creating a network that we can all benefit from through each others skills, backgrounds and services.

For some small businesses, the social aspect of meeting like minded independents and networking opportunities can be missed, from this the L8 Business Collective and Sisterhood Soiree were formed. They offer its members an opportunity to sell their products directly to consumers, and provide a friendly, social shopping experience in historic venues in Liverpool.
