Liverpool City Region Local Elections Results 2024

THROUGHOUT the Liverpool City Region, the Green Party has seen some success, but Labour has still easily held onto:- Sefton and Knowsley and Halton.

In the early ours of 3 May 2023 the results where announced for all of Sefton Council seats, with the Labour Party winning:- 17 seats of the 22 seats up for grabs, with 54% of votes; the Liberal Democrats, have won:- 3 seats with 17% of votes; The Conservative Party, has won:- 1 seat with 15% of votes; The Green Party, have won:- 1 seat with 6% of votes.



The video is of the Declarations for the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton Wards of:- Ainsdale, Birkdale, Cambridge, Dukes Street, Norwood, and Kew.  The following footage was taken at Southport, for the North Sefton Ward Counts, which was held in the evening of:- 2 May 2024, into the early hours of 3 May 2024.



Labour took 56% of the votes cast, with Liberal Democrats taking 17%, followed by the Conservative Party, with 15%, and the Green Party taking 6%. Not winning any seats, but taking 2% where the following:- Formby Residents Action Group, Lydiate and Maghull Community Independents, plus an Independent.



It is worth adding that Neil Doolin has became the 1st ever Green Councillor in Sefton, having taken:- 1,412 votes to Labour's:- 1,307, within Church Ward.

In Formby, Harington Ward saw Labour's Karen Cavanagh been elected, taking this seat from the Conservatives.

Also, in Sefton, the Liberal Democrats remain on 9 seats, having won 3 seats, regaining Cambridge Ward.



The counting of ballet paper from the Local Elections in Knowsley Council took place:- Friday, 3 May 2024. Turnout was:- 21.48%. Electorate:- 121,300. Out of the 16 seats declared, Labour took:- 9 seats, Green took:- 4, Liberal Democrat took:- 2, with Independents taking:- 1 seat. Click here to download the results.

Local Elections in Holton Council will take place on:- Friday, 3 May 2024. The results of the Local Election saw 18 seats declared, with:- 17 going to Labour and 1 Liberal Democrat ellected. It also saw a Conservative Councillor loose a seat.
