The Fantastical World of Roald Dahl

SOUTHPORT'S theatre company Gambolling Arena has been performing in Wayfarers Arcade over the Bank Holiday Weekend. The show has been put together by the group's Creative Director, Suzy Walker is based on Roald Dahl's book:- 'The Twits.'  40 Minute performances are free and are fantastic entertainment for for all ages, with lots of singing, dancing, slapstick and audience participation. Also on show over the Bank Holiday was the unique fashion exhibition by the talented fashion designer Mark Lyon Taylor. The theme is iconic movie dresses and Mark has made identical dresses to those that were worn by world class movie actors.  The stunning and exclusive collection has taken Mark over a year as he had to source the:- patterns, materials, sequins, crystals, rhinestones, and lace to replicate an exact copy of each dress with his amazing attention to detail. There will be 13 dresses in the exhibition and visitors can view the collection and read the informative cards with each costume detailing who wore the dresses, which film they were in, fabric and patterns used and who directed it etc. The exhibition runs until Sunday 1 June and is free to enter.

Keep your ears pealed and your ear trumpet at the ready, so you can hear all about the other events fantastic events which are due to be held at:- Wayfarers Arcade... The Lost Street of Southport

THIS Bank Holiday weekend Southport BID and Southport Townscape Heritage Project have worked with acclaimed artists 3D Jo and Max to bring Victorian-era Nevill Street to life!

Southport Townscape Heritage Project said:- "When you walk along Nevill Street, you might not be aware of the hidden history that lies buried beneath your feet. We hope that this eye-catching artwork will will offer a glimpse of pre-1900 Nevill Street; reimagining the Victorian streetscape bustling with activity."
