Formby Festival 2024

THE annual Formby Festival returned to Duke Street Park, in Formby, over:- 19 July to 21 July 2024 will a good eclectic mix of entertainment, from live music to stunts being preformed in an arena area, dance acts, plus lots of side stalls, fun fair just to name some of the many activities taking place.

This years show, despite the dreadful weather that lead to a very poor turnout of patrons on the Saturday still had a fantastic friendly atmosphere throughout the weekend.

Also, the fireworks still took place on the Saturday Night, even after a very heavy downpour an hour before, that lead to many in the audience heading home early. But all was good on Sunday, with the weather providing the perfect temperature., with Katumba Drumming setting the beet for the days entertainment.

As well as the classic competitions for fruit, flower, and vegetable growers of all ages, Sunday also had a dog show, with prizes for:- waggiest tail, best trick, biggest dog, smallest dog, best bark and best costume.

The festival has been running since 2013 and was celebrating its 10th year. Its surprising to think that this event is run by volunteers and its often hard to overlook the hard work they do to put on this type of event for our community. Without events like this our lives would be very dull, so its always a highlight on the local calendar and an event we should all embrace and support. Well done to all involved.  We look forward to its return in 2025. If you can help them with the 2025 show, please get in contact with the organisers via the shows dedicated website:- FormbyFestival.Co.UK.
