Ainsdale’s Got Talent 2024

ON Saturday, 12 October 2024, at:- St John Stones Church Hall a wonderful afternoon was enjoyed by all at:- "Ainsdale’s Got Talent 1st Village Show." There was a wide range of acts providing family fun and entertainment, all in support of the next Ainsdale Horticultural Society Summer Show.

The Junior section performers were:-

Kings Meadow Primary School Dance club led by Wendy Ehlen... Their contribution was a beautiful dance expressing the importance of friendship and acceptance in school

Revolution Dance Company led by Michelle Mawdsley... A wonderful and brightly coloured dance troupe representing ages from 3 upwards.

The winners Ashleigh's Dance School who chose 2 diverse dances the 1st reminding us all of the Covid Pandemic and the 2nd:- "It's raining men!" complete with umbrella's and rainmacs. They were presented with a beautiful silver cup and £25.

Following the interval where free refreshments were served Phil Morris guitarist and singer delivered a varied collection of singalong and foot tapping hits.

Ainsdale Village Singers delighted us with 3 wonderful contrasting songs delivered professionally and with ease. Conductor Stewart Hankinson. Chair Simon Biddolph. They were our well deserved adult winners of £50 and 3 full days in "Times Out" Recording studio courtesy of Andrew Porter MBE. They were also presented with a beautiful gold cup.

"Yooks!"
Southport Ukelele group relaxed us all with a lovely gentle collection of 60's and 70's hits they won 2nd prize. Of 1 day in "Times Out."

The afternoon drew to a close with the powerfully led and beautifully blended Praise Singers from Bolton "The Church of the Redeemed Choir"

"The Hills are alive with the Sound of Music"
sung by Lindsay Syed and the story "The Rich Man’s Gift" written and read by Navaid Syed.

The judges for the event were:- Lesley Sparkes, "Sparkey" part of the Brighter Living Charity and previous entertainment and activity manager at "Revitalise Sandpipers" with global connections within the entertainment world.

Local Councillor Lynne Thompson, long term supporter of Ainsdale in Bloom, Ainsdale Village Bloomers, Ainsdale Community Wildlife Trust and the Ainsdale Show.

Brenda Porter, Chair of Ainsdale in Bloom, Ainsdale Village Bloomers, Chair of Governors, at Merefield School, and chair of Ainsdale Community Wildlife Trust. Mr Graham Webster led the afternoon superbly as Compere, auctioneer and raffle coordinator.
Chair of Ainsdale Horticultural Society Mrs. Janet Greenwood presented the prizes and certificates of participation...

Many of our wonderful village businesses supported the event with raffle and auction gifts:- Broadbents Travel, The Barr, Tesco Express, Waterfields,Tipple, Baileys cards and gifts, Miller and Carter, Lily May, Dules Bar and Dolce Vita, Plants and DIY Ainsdale, The Lion's Shop, Nico's Barber, Wow Brows, Bill Rimmers, 2 seasons, Websters plants, Gesbur's Framers.and Baron's, Fruit and Veg.

The organisers told us that they were also very grateful for a generous donation from Sefton Council Community Fund C/O Andrew Brannagh.

In total the event raised close to £1000 towards the 2025 Ainsdale Show.

The event team added that they wanted to thank both PCSO's Paval and Brandon for attending. and also added:- "We wish to say a huge thank you to all who took part and supported in so very many different ways."
