Southport Rugby Football Cub 2024 Firework Display

THE annual 'Fireworks Extravaganza' was held on Waterloo Road, at Southport Rugby Football Cub, with record crowds of around 2000 people. The weather was fantastic for this event that was broadcast live on Mighty FM by local Radio Presenter, Trevor Ford, along with live music performed by Kelly Bond. The event had lots more this year for to entertain the kids both before and after the fireworks than in the previous years, with lots of side stalls offering fun games like Hook a Duck, face painting, paint ball, food and drink, bouncy castles, a wipe-out ride and even a very large inflatable slide!

This year the atmosphere was buzzing and it was dry, but it also had a more sombre side, at the very start of the event, 3 roman candles shot up to the sound track of a Taylor Swift song, followed by 3 red harts, blasted into the sky, in memory of Bebe King, Elsie Dot Stancombe, and Alice da Silva Aguiar.
