Highlights of the 2024 Liverpool 5k Santa Dash and 1k Mini Dash - Part 1

THE 2024 Liverpool Santa Dash and the Mini Dash were held on:- 1 December 2024, with over 8500 Red and Blue, plus a few Yellow Santa's taking part in what has become the UK's biggest,  Festive Fun Run, and a regular world record making annual event! The runners, if you have not see it before, have to run the course with Santa costumes, plus the odd Elfs and the occasional Grinch costumes.  The main event is a 5k fun run, followed by a 1k Mini Dash for the kids.  This year over 8500 runners took part in the main event,

Rugby star Kevin Sinfield CBE kicked off his latest epic fundraiser and started the Santa Dash along with Father Christma. they were joined with a host of guests including the Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Richard Charles Kemp, CBE. Interestingly the Lady Mayoress, Debby Lofthouse also took part, running with the chains in the 5k Santa Dash!  Not only that, but In Demand Radio Presenter Claire Simmo was broadcasting her Sunday Show live from the event on Santa Dash Day! She was joined by fellow Radio Presenter &^&^%%& .

The runners taking part helped to raise funds for:- Zoe's Place Baby Hospise, Alder Hey Childrens Hospital, Claire House Childrens Hospise, The Clattabridge Cancer Charity, Mersey Cares, With Charity, Liverpool Women's Hospital Charity, and the North West Air Ambulance Charity.

This year St Johns Shopping Centre also helped out yet again as an official event partner, as did the Royal Albert Dock, and Run ABC. Other businesses also contributed, including on the day, Hooters Liverpool and Gravity MAX Liverpool.  We think it is also worth adding that unlike Merseyrail, Arriva North West pulled out all the stops by yet again supporting the BTR Liverpool Santa Dash for the 7th year on the run, by offering free travel for Santas taking part in the race on the firm's bus network, all across Merseyside, on the day!

If you would like to take part entries are open for the 2025 Santa Dash, that will be held on:- Sunday, 7 December 2025. Claire House is the main official Charity for the 2025 Santa Dash. To join the action or to find out more about this world record making event, please visit:- BTRLiverpool.Com. It is worth adding that The Liverpool Santa Dash is hosted as a fun run and as such does not impose an age restriction. Even if you are not wanting to run, it is still worth attending, as it is an amazing atmosphere and an even more amazing sceptical!

It was created by BTR Liverpool Race Director Alan Rothwell and has continued to evolve, breaking World Records as it moves onwards and upwards. The event has many imitators, but the Liverpool Santa Dash is still the 1st of its kind and the biggest festive fun run in the UK by miles, no matter what others try to say...

These are a few video highlights shot by our Editor, Patrick Trollope of the event and some photos of the action on the day... More photos will be in next weeks edition as well. So check in same time next week as you might be on the photos!  More photos can be seen on the following, 7 pages within this edition that have been taken at this event.
