Southport Charity Christmas Vehicle Parade 2024

ON Sunday, 1 December 2024, a massive convoy of vehicles took to the roads as part of the annual Southport Charity Christmas Parade. This years event very nearly didn't take place, but following the shocking events earlier in the summer. The aim of the event is not only to raise cash but also bring the Christmas spirit to the area and bringing the community together. It is worth adding that not only did they raise cash for Elsie's Story, but they also collected lots of toys for local charities along the way.  Both Adam Holmes-Brown and Paul Holmes-Brown, along with many volunteers yet again managed to pulled it off and it has yet again become officially the biggest Charity Vehicle Christmas Parade in the North West of England, possibly the biggest in the UK for 2024.

This year the parade aimed to raise awareness and also money for a new charity set up in memory of Elsie Dot Stancombe. She was one of the young Southport girl who died in the Southport attack in Jul 2024y. In her memory a Charitable Trust, was launched in October 2024 called:- 'Elsie’s Story.'

Unlike in previous years, due to Pontins in Ainsdale being closed, the event had to start on the A565 Formby Bypass, at Warren Farm.  Once it set off it then headed towards Southport going past RAF Woodvale and then on into:- Ainsdale, though to Hillside, then Birkdale, and onto Lord Street in Southport's Town Center. It then headed back on itself along the Promenade before swinging round and heading back up the Promenade. These are some of our photos and some of the video footage we took of the Southport Charity Christmas Parade this year, with it's many decorated vehicles that included:- Santa on his sleigh, along with some elves and much more.
