Liverpool City Region Celebrates Record Number of Tourism Excellence Finalists

LIVERPOOL City Region is celebrating an unprecedented achievement with 7 outstanding businesses named as finalists in the prestigious:- 'VisitEngland Awards for Excellence' was the highest number ever for the Region.

Showcasing the exceptional quality and diversity of tourism businesses across Liverpool, Southport, and the Wirral, the finalists highlight the Region's status as a world-class destination.

Natalie Wyatt, Managing Director of Liverpool City Region Destination Partnership, said:- "This record-breaking achievement reflects the incredible standards our tourism partners consistently deliver. From our rich cultural heritage and iconic landmarks to our vibrant arts and music scene and world-class sporting events, the Liverpool City Region continues to captivate visitors from around the globe."

Lord Tony Hall, Chair of Liverpool City Region Destination Partnership, said:- "I'm absolutely delighted that 7 of our outstanding Liverpool City Region businesses have been recognised as finalists in the prestigious VisitEngland Excellence Awards. This remarkable achievement showcases the world-class tourism offerings we have right here in our Region. Each finalist represents the innovation, dedication, and exceptional Hospitality that makes our Region such a vibrant destination for visitors from across the globe. Their success not only highlights individual excellence but strengthens our reputation as a premier UK destination. We're immensely proud of these businesses and wish them the very best at the awards ceremony in June."

The VisitEngland awards worked in collaboration with 21 local competitions, including:- the Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards which celebrate excellence in Hospitality and the exceptional quality and diversity of the Region's booming visitor economy. The awards, organised by the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority with support from the Liverpool City Region Destination Partnership (LCRDP), honour excellence throughout the tourism and Hospitality sectors.

Liverpool City Region's 7 Finalists in the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence include:-

  • B&B and Guest House of the Year: Sunnyside Guest House, Southport.

  • Ethical, Responsible and Sustainable Tourism Award: Sunnyside Guest House, Southport.

  • International Tourism Award: The Beatles Story.

  • Large Visitor Attraction of the Year: Liverpool Football Club Tours and Experiences.

  • Large Hotel of the Year: Titanic Hotel Liverpool.

  • New Tourism Business of the Year: Eureka! Science + Discovery.

  • Accessible and Inclusive Tourism Award: Eureka! Science + Discovery.

For over 30 years, the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence have recognised the very best of England's tourism industry, celebrating:- innovation, quality, and outstanding customer experiences. Following a rigorous selection process by industry experts:- 52 national finalists, including:- the 7 from:- Liverpool City Region, will now compete across sixteen categories at the awards ceremony on:- 4 June 2025,  at the:- Brighton Dome Corn Exchange.

Aldi set to treat shoppers in Merseyside who share its birthday

ALDI is celebrating its 35th Anniversary in the UK with a unique giveaway for shoppers in Merseyside who share the same birthday.

Britain's 4th largest supermarket, which opened its 1st UK store on:- 5 April 1990, is inviting anyone born on:- 5 April, irrespective of the year, to claim a £35 Aldi voucher; the perfect birthday treat!

Whether it is used to stock up on groceries, grab some household essentials, or even indulge in its fan favourite Cuthbert Cake, this voucher is Aldi's way of saying:- "Happy Birthday" to shoppers in honour of this shared milestone.

To enter, simply send an email to:- BirthdayTwinsCompetition@Aldi.Co.UK. 35 shoppers will be selected at random to receive the prize and winners must be able to provide valid proof of their birth date upon selection.
