A host of some of the best known faces from Children's TV have lent their support to an online quiz event taking place on Tuesday, 28 April 2020 and raising funds for disabled children affected by the COVID-19 crisis.  Stars from much loved TV shows including:- CBeebies, Swashbuckle, Andy's Dinosaur Adventures, Justin's House and Mister Maker have all recorded special videos as part of the online quiz for young children and families. A total of 11 TV stars have already recorded questions for the We Children's Activities Family Quiz, with organisers saying there is still more to come. Orchestrated by the team behind the annual Children's Activities Week fundraising event, all proceeds from the quiz will be donated to the national charity Caudwell Children Emergency Appeal to support families caring for disabled children during the crisis.

Ben Sutcliffe, Director of Executive Projects at Caudwell Children, said:- "The support we've received from the celebrities has been phenomenal. Online quiz events have become very popular, but they almost exclusively aimed at adults. We are giving children age between 2 and 8 a chance to get in on the action and having some famous faces ask the questions just adds to the excitement."

One of the TV stars supporting the campaign is former CBeebies presenter, Alex Winters, he commented:- "At a time when parents are looking for something fun, a bit different and educational to do with their little ones this quiz really hits the spot. I was delighted to be asked to support this very worthy cause and also to ask some of my colleagues and friends to get involved too, I hope it is a massive success."

The online quiz takes place on Tuesday, 28 April 2020, from 2pm, and will be available for 24 hours to parents and carers that register. With questions for pre-schoolers aged 2 to 4 and some slightly trickier ones for the older children aged 5 to 8, there's something for everyone.  Registration for the quiz requires just a minimum ₤1 donation per child, with all proceeds being donated to provide support services for disabled children and families during the crisis.

Walk the Walk unites to help save UK charities with 2.6 challenge

STAY at home, keep social distancing, be thoughtful, be kind, but we also have to keep healthy… we are all in this together! says breast cancer charity Walk the Walk. Walk the Walk is encouraging people to support them by taking part in the 2.6 challenge, on Sunday, 26 April 2020, the day the 40th London Marathon should have taken place.

The UK charity sector estimates it will lose ₤4 billion in income as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Thousands of fundraising events have been cancelled as a consequence including Walk the Walk's Moon Walk London, which was due to take place on 16 May 2020. Now the UK's mass participation event industry has come together to create The 2.6 Challenge, a nationwide fundraising campaign to Save the UK's Charities.

Walk the Walk still needs to raise funds to help fund both research, but more importantly at this time to support those across the UK living with breast cancer. The 2.6 challenge is for everyone, no matter their age or ability; people are being encouraged to take on a challenge based on the figures 2.6 or 26.

Nina Barough CBE, Founder and Chief Executive of Walk the Walk said:- "Above the clouds, the sun is always shining, so how wonderful that in these strange times, charities are supporting each other and working together to raise much needed money for so many different causes. By supporting Walk the Walk, we will be able to continue to make a difference to those living with cancer when it is most needed. The 2.6 challenge really is for everyone and I know our supporters and the Walk the Walk Team will all be thinking up some really whacky and crazy ways of taking part in true Walk the Walk style. Every penny and contribution no matter how small will make a difference… so, watch this space!"

Due to the Coronavirus, Walk the Walk have sadly postponed some of their events including:- The Moon Walk London and Moon Walk Scotland. Visit:- WalkTheWalk.Org for updates and to find out more about the charity.
