THE cast of the Liverpool Empire's
pantomime, 'Aladdin', brought
Christmas cheer to patients and staff at Alder Hey Children's Hospital, on
Monday, 22 December 2014. Each year, the pantomime cast make the highly
anticipated trip to Alder Hey, dressed in their glittering costumes to bring
magic and laughter to youngsters who are spending Christmas in hospital.
Ray Quinn, of X Factor fame, who returns to the Liverpool Empire panto this year
as Aladdin, was looking forward to bringing some panto magic to the young
patients. Ray said:- "I hope we can lift the spirits of some of the poorly
children who will spend Christmas in hospital, and the wonderful staff who work
so hard to look after them. They're not able to come and see the panto, so we're
bringing it to them instead!"
Ray was joined by Ben Engelen, who plays Wishee Washee, and Adam Curtis who
plays PC Pong in this year's production. The cast delivered
Christmas presents to the patients and their relatives including some of the
latest Christmas toys and gifts as well as games consoles and kindles for the
wards, all of which have been kindly donated by locally-based business
Littlewoods.com, before they headed back to
the Empire for a matinee performance.
Littlewoods.com is sponsoring pantomimes up and down the country this Christmas,
including Aladdin at the Liverpool Empire, through a partnership with Ambassador
Theatre Group and First Family Entertainment.
