Liverpool women are being urged to fight dirty!
LIVERPOOL
women are being urged to fight dirty when it comes to conquering
cancer; by signing up now for an exciting new event from Cancer
Research UK's Race for Life.
The City has been chosen to host 1 of just 3 Race for Life Pretty Muddy
events taking place in the North West this summer.
Pretty Muddy is a women only, non competitive 5k obstacle course; with added
mud. It will take place for the first time in the City at Liverpool's Sefton
Park on Saturday, 4 July 2015.
It's the perfect challenge for those looking to shake off the January blues and
commit to get more active in 2015.
Cancer Research UK's Race for Life family of events also includes the 5k and 10k
courses, which thousands of women will take on at Sefton Park on Sunday, 5 July
2015
and also at Aintree Racecourse on Sunday, 21 June 2015 to raise money for life saving
research.
Every hour, more than 4 people are diagnosed with cancer in the North West,,,
And that's why Cancer Research UK is calling on Liverpool women to fight back
against this devastating disease by choosing their challenge - Pretty Muddy, 5k
or 10k - and signing up now.
Jennifer Ward, Cancer Research UK's Liverpool Event Manager, said:- "We're so
excited about launching Race for Life Pretty Muddy in Liverpool. The event is
taking place in the City for the 1st time and we're calling on local ladies to
sign up now. We've no doubt that they've got the fighting spirit to get down and
dirty in the bid to beat cancer sooner. Pretty Muddy promises all the fun and camaraderie of our much loved 5k and 10k
events; just with an extra serving of mud. Race for Life events are not competitive. They are not about being fit or fast.
Women can complete the Pretty Muddy course at their own pace, climbing, jumping,
walking and laughing their way around. It's about an army of women coming
together in the fight against cancer. If you're looking for an opportunity to get the New Year off to good start,
this is the time to commit to Race for Life. With fire in their bellies and
trainers at the ready, we know that Liverpool ladies are up for the challenge."
Cancer Research UK's Race for Life, in partnership with Tesco, is an inspiring
women-only series of 5k, 10k and Pretty Muddy events which raises millions of
pounds every year to help beat 200 different types of cancer.

Money raised through Race for Life allows Cancer Research UK's doctors, nurses
and scientists to advance research which is helping to save the lives of men,
women and children across the North West.
Cancer survival rates have doubled since the 1970s and Cancer Research UK's work
has been at the heart of that progress. But more funds and more supporters are
needed to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.
Jennifer continued:- "We're calling on the brave ladies of Liverpool to pull on
their leggings and take on cancer at this year's event. Race for Life is to celebrate those who are with us, and also remember those
who are not. The atmosphere is electric, our participants are so inspiring and

Did you know that Pretty Muddy is a new addition to the Race
for Life family of events which also includes the much-loved 5k and 10k events?
There are over 30 Pretty Muddy events across the UK. Pretty Muddy is a women
only, non competitive 5k obstacle course; with mud. It is open to women
and girls over 13, of all fitness levels, Pretty Muddy isn't about blood, sweat
and tears; it's about fun, friendship and fundraising to bring forward the day
when all cancers are cured. Did you know that each Pretty Muddy event will
have 8-10 obstacles, plus a few surprises in between? There will be a
combination of messy and muddy obstacles, climbing obstacles and crawling
obstacles. The entry fee is £14.99 for adults and £10 for girls under 16.
This covers the costs of staging the event series and means that money raised in
sponsorship can go to help beat cancer. Participants with pre-existing medical
conditions are advised to seek advice from their doctor before registering!
Did you know that Cancer Research UK's Race for Life in partnership with Tesco

women are welcome, regardless of whether they are taking part on their own or as
part of a group. Plus did you know that it's easy to take part and

and raise £50m to help fund life saving work this year, so will you help? The

Race for Life started as one event in 1994 at Battersea Park with 680
participants. Since Race for Life started, an incredible 7.7 million
