Heaton's Bridge Military Vehicle Group
have held its 1st event of 2015
THE local branch of the Heaton's Bridge
Military Vehicle Group took over a field on the banks of the Leeds and
Liverpool Canal, at the back of the Heatons Bridge Inn. Sadly, the weather over
the few weeks before the event had left the field very wet, so not all the
anticipated military hardware could be displayed, but what was offer over 18
April to 19 April 2015, was well worth looking at. Also the bar provided a
fantastic place to relax in, as some of the vehicles attending on both days went
in convoy off for runs. The bar provided a good range of real ales and food,
along with letting visitors and the HBMV access to the field and its car park for
free.

VE Day 70th Anniversary
Commemoration - Formby
THE Formby Royal British Legion are
holding a service of commemoration of the 70th Anniversary of VE Day. This is to
be held at Our Lady of Compassion Church, School Lane, Formby, Merseyside, on
Sunday, 10 May 2015, at 3pm, followed by a reception at Formby Sports and Social
Club, Whitehouse Lane, formerly the Royal British Legion Club. Marshside Brass
Band will entertain there.
