Summer Arts Market to return to St George's Hall with over 100 Artists, Designers and Makers

THE 3rd annual 'Summer Arts Market', Merseyside's celebrated arts and crafts market, comes to St George's Hall on Saturday, 18 July 2015 and Sunday, 19 July 2015, that run from 10am to 5pm.

Featuring work from more than 100 artists, designers and makers, the event is a modern arts and crafts fair and one of the best independent shopping experiences in the City.

The Grade I Listed St George's Hall will once again be transformed into a bustling market with thousands of items for sale including intricate handmade jewellery, contemporary accessories, screen prints, tableware, beauty products, colourful decorations, accessories, cards, textiles, photography, knitwear and more. There'll also be a vintage fair upstairs in the stunning Concert Room for vintage fans to have a good rummage through!

Shoppers can relax and enjoy delicious food and drink provided by Cuthbert's Bakehouse in their pop-up café at the North Entrance. Lots of locally sourced items will be on offer, including hearty breakfasts, hot and cold lunch options, Pimms, afternoon teas and tasty cakes to suit every appetite.

A children's arts and crafts workshop will also be held throughout the weekend, in the Craft Lab with KECS Creative offering children and families the chance to build their own paper flowers with a fragrant twist. There'll also be a pop up photo booth on hand to capture all the exciting stuff that's going on, so grab a few pals and pile in.

The Summer and Winter Arts Markets are organised by local social enterprise Open Culture, who have been working in partnership with St George's Hall to stage the events since 2009. The aim of the markets is to provide the public with the opportunity to purchase unique, affordable products directly from artists and makers themselves, supporting independent creative businesses and promoting local talent.

Charlotte Corrie, director of Open Culture, said:- "We're really excited to be bringing the Summer Arts Market back to St George's Hall for a third year. Our biannual markets just keep getting bigger and better and we're always excited to be able to showcase such a fantastic range of work by local artists and makers; it really shows the depth of creative talent here in Liverpool."

Local artist and exhibitor Danny Cameron said:- "The arts markets provide a rare opportunity to shop for something special, something a little bit different; and to be able to chat to the creator about what inspired them. I can't wait to see all the wonderful creations on offer from such a huge variety of talented makers all under one roof!"
