Nugent Care crosses the Mersey to Collaborate with Wirral Charity Charlotte's Brightside
LIVERPOOL charity Nugent Care is using their experience from 134 years of helping people by joining up with Wirral based charity Charlotte's Brightside. One of Nugent Care's projects, Epsom Community and Volunteer Project, mirrors the aims of Charlotte's Brightside, which started in 2011, in providing a safe and fun after school arena for local children, some of whom are vulnerable. Although the collaboration is in the early stages, the managers from each charity are eager to share their skills and resources to enable both to work more efficiently. Already the Epsom Project has lent some of their library to the children at Charlotte's Brightside. The 2 have even visited each other's centres with some of the children who regularly attend. Mandi Tambourini Moore, who heads up Epsom Project for Nugent Care, said:- "It's great to meet a similar project on the Wirral and talk about how we can help each other and work toward the same goals. Charlotte's Brightside is a fantastic charity and we can't wait to work closely with them in the future." Angie Churchill, who founded Charlotte's Brightside after her daughter Charlotte was killed in a car accident, said:- "Meeting Mandi and the team at Epsom Project has been really useful in seeing what we can learn from one another and use this information to grow awareness of Charlotte's Brightside throughout the Wirral and Liverpool."
