Formby Live Music Festival
hit just the right note

ORGANISERS just before the event
promises this event would be "the best ever" and boy oh boy it
was! The 2015 Formby
Live Music Festival , has been going now
for 7 years and was held over Friday, 26 June to Sunday, 28 June 2015. Formby
has been facing a downhill struggle, as of late, to bring in trade, but events
like this will considerably help to ease the issues faced by the Village's
traders. Taking part and managing in the very successful event were both the
Cafe D'Art and Woodwards, along with the soon to open The Hop and Horn, and the
services of local music charity, The
MerseyCats.Com. The event for the very
first time had a live music stage on Chapel Lane, as well as an open air stage
at the Formby Pool. It also had BBQ's, steam train rides, and a fun fair, plus
another new stage, located outside The Hop and Horn, on Chapel Lane. This was a
fantastic event for young and old alike, with bands like The Farm mixing with
other acts, like the Linda Campbell Band, Maria Way and Rigsby's Cat. Of course
the Merseycats also took part. If the music was not your taste, and with a large
variety of styles on offer, it was hard not to be, children and adults alike,
could get their faces painted, thanks to Chloe Cristina. These are a few
photographs we snapped at what was a fantastic event. We are just sorry we did
not have time to see all 3 days worth of activities. Keep an eye on the
Festival's
website for next year's event and also, if
you have a band, to find out how to apply to play at it. It will be hard to beat
this year's event, thanks to the warm weather and fantastic performances, but we
are positive 2016 will be bigger and better still! Well done to all who took
part and to all the volunteers. Please remember that we will be
adding some more photos from this event to next weeks issue as well!
