Halloween at the Fox and
Goose
Photograph by Patrick Trollope
IT was a dark and misty night as
creatures of all sizes and shapes, over the age of 18 mind, came out to party on
31 October 2015, as the
Fox
and
Goose Halloween Party "Dusk Till Dawn
Special" took place. The venue, located on Cable St, is in the very
heart of Southport Town Centre and both the Fox and the Bar opposite, The Ship
and Anchor were heaving.
Both had some fantastic bands on, which brought out quite a following. As it was
Halloween, in the Fox and Goose, both bar staff and punters got into the spirit
of things, dressing up and having fun. Even our Editor, Patrick, dressed up,
taking our stage props to the bar, fitted like the Electric Chair…
Interestingly, we have a best costume competition running, with the best
costumes of the night being selected by our monster squad at the venue and then
photographed on the chair… If you like one of the costumes on our Facebook Page
competition section, click on the like button and the best costume will be
announced in the next edition! Also on the night was a fantastic competition run
by the bar, giving out a prize of £66.60 to the best costume that they had
selected on the night! Winner and 2nd and 3rd place can be seen above and also
on our photographic coverage page, by clicking on
here, plus
many more photos. Adding to the awesome atmosphere was the local not for profit
group, MakeItWorkshop
CIC, who are based in Cambridge Walks,
Southport. 1 of the volunteers from the group helped those in costume and those
without by offering some fantastic stage make up... Then you also had the
fantastic Wigan based, classic Rock Covers Band, Road-Hog,
who delivered a stellar performance throughout most of the night… Not only that,
but the bar also held a few charity collections as well… Did you attend? If you
did, please do let us know what you thought of the night via emailing us to:-
News24@SouthportReporter.com. Keep an eye out for more Fox and Goose,
Sound Lounge updates soon… they are cooking up some more amazing things as
Christmas and New Year Approaches. All 3 venues on Cable St, are quickly
becoming the place to be, with fantastic staff, plus friendly customers, just
what is required for Southport's Nightlife!
Southport Grand Bonfire &
Firework Display 2015
A dazzling show was delivered at this
year's:- 'Southport Grand Bonfire and Firework Display,' which was
hosted by Southport Hesketh Round Table. The event was extremely well attended
and all the patrons we spoke to said that this was the best yet, and we cannot
disagree. Apart from the Guy falling off the bonfire, everything appeared to
have gone to plan and we will have some video footage online for you, via our
Facebook page very soon, plus in the next edition, lots of photographs for you
to parade though… This year's event was sponsored by Champion Accountants.
The compere for the night was Andy Gilbert, from Sandgrounder Radio (Southport
Radio). To find out more about Round Table
group number 1199, please visit their
website.
