North West Britain In Bloom Judges visit Southport
SOUTHPORT'S green fingered volunteers rallied around over
the last few weeks, with a last push yesterday in the rain to get the Town
Centre looking at it's best for the North West in Bloom competition judges. The
army of helpers, supported by local businesses and other groups have made a
fantastic effort and despite the rain, the Town has never looked so nice.
"We are quite optimistic. The weather has been an issue this year, as well as
the fact the judges opted to come on 12 July, as Orange Man's day celebrations
took place. But our small team have spent hours, not only on Lord Street but on
other areas of the Town Centre, including the Promenade. We hope the judges
liked what they had seen." said a spokesperson for the Volunteer
gardeners. What do you think about their efforts? Also with the Britain in Bloom
judges coming to the Town later in the year, can you help in any way? Please
