What an
enjoyable night at this years 'Love Live Music On The
Waterfront'
Photographs by Patrick
Trollope.
THIS years on the
Waterfront concerts where held under nearly fully blue sky, but
it was the Saturday Night Show, on the 23 July 2013, that was
the major draw. We headed on down to the Pier Head to see this
fantastic show take place… With the choice of music that had
been picked, the audience tended to be middle aged, so the
atmosphere this year was very calm and relaxed. But it was not
just model aged people who just enjoyed the live performances,
as all ages mixed successfully, under the historic three graces
as the sun set over the river Mersey. This was a well organised
and well planned event as you now expect from Liverpool. The end
had a very well synchronised firework display, illuminating the
sky just off to the left of the massive stage. Performing on
this warm, and for this year, unusually dry night where The
Christians, Lighthouse Family's front man Tunde Baiyewu, Jack
Savorett, Nell Bryden, Katie Melua and Thea Gilmore. But taking
the top billimg for the 2nd 'Love Live Music On The Waterfront'
where Brit award-winner KT Tunstall and the classical artist
Russell Watson. The 2 nights followed on from Smooth Radio's
series of 'Love Live Music' concerts, and they did a fantastic
job of getting such a good list of artists down to play at this
free event. Praise has to also go to Liverpool City Council and
to the other supporters Cammell Laird and Typhoo, as with out
them this event would not have happened. We think we can say for
everyone who went that this was a highly successful and
entertaining night. Well done to all the acts and a big thank
you to them and the organisers! But did you know that round 2 is
still to come of this fantastic waterfront event as it returns
later in the year over and 8 September to 15 September 2013. To
